Lorena Tennis Sweater

Lorena comes in an easy-to-wear silhouette, with loose, relaxed fit and modified drop shoulder sleeves. The hems and wide V-neck border are worked in single ribbing, with different stripes patterns. An easy pattern of knit, purl and slip sts gives a light texture to the garment, making it more interesting.

Row 3: P1, k2 * sl1 st k-wise wyib, k2 * repeat from * to *, p1.

Row 4: P1, k2 * sl1 st k-wise wyif, k2 * repeat from * to *, p1.

Row 5: P1, k2 * sl1 st k-wise wiyib, k2 * repeat from * to *, p1.

Row 6: P1, k2 * sl1 st k-wise wyif, k2 * repeat from * to *, p1.

Repeat these 6 rows.

Sloped BO

To prevent “stair steps” from forming between subsequent BO rows, use the sloped BO method as following: On the first BO row, bind off as usual to define the initial part of the slope. Work the next row to the last st, but do not work the last st. Turn work so that the unworked st becomes the first st on the RH needle. Sl the first st on the LH needle pwise, then BO the unworked st by lifting it over the sl st and off the needle.

Pattern notes

The back, fronts, and sleeves are worked flat from the bottom up and sewn together.

The color-blocks at the hems are worked with the intarsia method. Use a new ball for every color change and twist the two yarn ends together to prevent holes forming. To keep the sts tidy on every color change, after you have twisted the two yarns and knitted (or purled) the first two sts of the new color, pull the working yarn as much as you can and then work the third st with the normal tension.

After working pieces, one shoulder is seamed.  V-neck edging is picked up and worked flat with decreases.  When neckline is finished, opposite shoulder is seamed, sleeves are attached and all remaining seams are worked.
