    Hello,
Can this pattern be adjusted to make the scarf 8 inches wide. If so, how ? Thank you.

If you’re only casting on 15 stitches, and knitting side-to-side, why on earth would you need 22″ needles or circular? I’ve just knitted a scarf with 35 stitches on 10″ needles and COULD have made 2 side by side on the needles!

I’ve submitted my question above regarding the 22″ straight and circular needles.

I’m using 8-1/2″ needles to knit this horseshoe-lace scarf, however, your pattern calls for 22″ Size 13 needles straight and circular . I’m confused.

This means to use a US size 13 (9mm) needle. That needle can be a 22″ long straight or you can use circular needles. I hope this helps!

I’m knitting your horseshoe-lace scarf and really like it, however, why does your pattern say “22” straight and circular needles – I’m using the shorter bamboo needles which are 8-1/2″

Please explain the phrase short row side to side for this pattern. Thank you!! I do Not see the word “ turn” to get the short rows…

This means the pattern is worked from bottom to up rather than in long rows the length of the scarf. I hope this helps!

I am following the 8 pattern repeat. The project does not look at all like the picture. It is probably because of the directions to working in short rows side to side and based on the eight rows. What is short rows side to side mean. How do you achieve this.? Please help!!

I have a question regarding the Horseshoe Lace Scarf. It calls for 2 markers but does not say where they should be added. Thank you!

  • Beautiful scarf. Would a silk or cashmere yarn be good to use.

Unable to print the pattern , the way you have it set up, the left side does not print so you can read. It is too wide! Hate having to write it out. I do appreciate the pattern and your site.
