Winter Rose Blanket and Pillow Set

This gorgeous rose-tinted blanket and pillow set is perfect for cozy, relaxed evenings. The delicate details in this cabled blanket and cushion cover pair are sure to help chase away the winter chills.

Size: Blanket = 39” (100 cm) x 49” (125 cm); Cushion = 16” (40 cm) x 16” (40 cm) finished, 35” (90 cm) x 16” (40 cm) before seaming

Gauge: 20 sts and 34 rows = 4” [10 cm] in seed st after blocking; 20 sts and 37 rows = 4” [10 cm] in garter st after blocking 

Materials

Yarn:

Medium Weight Yarn KnitPicks Wool of the Andes Worsted (100% peruvian highland wool; 110 yards [101 meters]/50 grams): #25980 Victorian (19 balls for throw, 7 balls for cushion)
Needles: US size 8 (5.0 mm) straight and long circular needles
Notions: 12 stitch markers

Abbreviations

C8F: Sl next 4 sts onto cable needle and bring to front of work, knit 4 sts, knit 4 sts from cable needle.
C8B: Sl next 4 sts onto cable needle and bring to back of work, knit 4 sts, knit 4 sts from cable needle.

Pattern Notes

The blanket is worked flat from one short edge to the other on long circular needles.
The cushion cover is worked in one long piece with buttons sewn on the cast on garter stitch band and buttonholes worked in the cast off garter stitch band. Cover is then folded and seamed.

Work 2.5cm in garter stitch. Cast off.
Weave in ends. Block to measurements given. Fold so that button band and buttonhole band overlap along centre of cushion back. Seam sides. Attach buttons.
