Lining

Sew side, bottom edge, center bottom seams, and top edge (leaving zipper placement edge unsewn) using diagram as a guide, matching colored seam lines to each other. Repeat seaming for other side of lining. On one Bag side, leave 1¼” unsewn at one side for leather handle to fit through.

Fold unsewn zipper placement edge under along seam allowance. Steam seams.

For knitted bag: Sew side, bottom edge, center bottom seams, and top edge (leaving zipper placement edge unsewn) using diagram as a guide, matching colored seam lines to each other. Repeat seaming for other side of bag. Steam seams.

Assembly

Place lining into bag, with WS of lining into WS of bag. Insert each side of leather piece into indicated spot along side. Sew to inside of lining. Tighten up lining and bag seams around handle if needed. Sandwich zipper between lining and bag along top edge between layers. Sew into place by hand, using short stitches and backstitching every inch.

Weave in ends.
