Yarn: Biscotte & Cie DK Pure (90% Merino Superwash, 10% Silk; 260 yards [238 meters]/115 grams): Coupe de feu (2 balls)

Needles: US size 10 (6.0 mm): 32” circular

Notions: 15 removable stitch markers; blocking pins; tapestry needle

Abbreviations

K2tog – knit 2 together

P2tog – purl 2 together

Ssk – Slip one stitch as if to knit, slip next stitch as if to knit, insert left-hand needle into front of these 2 stitches and knit them together.

Ssp – Slip one stitch as if to knit, slip next stitch as if to knit, then slip the two slipped stitches back to the left needle and purl them together through the back loops.

Yo – Yarn over

Special Stitches

Knitted Lace Bind Off

P2, *sl the 2 sts back to left needle without twisting, p2tog, p1; rep from * to last st, break yarn and pull through to finish.

Pattern Notes

The shawl is knit worked flat in one piece from the lace border, followed by a garter section.

The plain garter section is shaped by short rows to form the crescent shape.

The shawl is flanked by garter borders at either end. Work lace border from chart or written instructions.

Using the Long Tail Cast-On Method, CO 259 sts as follow:

CO 4, pm, *(CO 18, pm) 13 times, (CO 17, pm), CO 4.

Note: The rows include the 3-st garter borders and the lace pattern.

Rows 1-4: Knit.

Row 5 (RS): K3, p1, sm, (k17, p1, sm) 13 times, k17, sm, p1, k3.

Row 6 (WS): K4, (p17, sm, k1) 14 times, k3.

Row 7: K3, p1, sm, (k2tog, k6, yo, k1, yo, k6, ssk, p1, sm) 13 times, k2tog, k6, yo, k1, yo, k6, ssk, sm, p1, k3.

Row 8: K4, sm, (ssp, p13, p2tog, sm, k1) 14 times, k3.

Rows 19-32: Rep Rows 5-18 once more.

Remove all markers.

Short-row Shaping

Row 33 (RS): K134, turn.

Row 34 (WS): K9, turn.

Row 35: K to 1 st before turning point, ssk, k4, turn.

Row 36: K to 1 st before turning point, k2tog, k4, turn.

Rep Rows 35-36 until all sts have been worked – 209 sts.

Next Row: Knit.

Eyelet Border

Row 1: Knit.

Row 2: K1, *yo, k2tog; rep from * to end.

Row 3: Knit.

Finishing

BO all sts using the Knitted Lace Bind Off technique.

Weave in ends and wet block.
