Pattern Notes

This is a top-down crescent shawl. Stitches are increased on both sides, 6 stitches every other row, using the backwards loop cast on method.

The sample was worked using a Main Color (MC) and Contrasting Color (CC).

The shawl is constructed by 6 alternating (MC, CC) sections followed by a lace border that is attached to the body of the shawl by working perpendicular to the body of the shawl. Each section contains 16 rows makings a total of 96 rows for the entire body, followed by the 8 row attached border that is repeated 75 times.

The stitch counts can be found at the end of each line of the written instructions and in the left yellow columns on the charts

I did not use any stitch markers. The pattern is memorable and becomes intuitive. Should you wish to use markers after each repeat, you will need as many as 28 stitch markers at the shawl’s widest point.) A tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
