Leafy Lace Tee

Make your knitting practical and wearable this summer! Leafy Lace Tee is designed to work as a beach cover-up or as a top to throw over your favorite tank or flowery dress. It is meant to be worn oversized to allow plenty of room for layering and movement.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Size: Small (Medium, Large, 1X, 2X) for finished bust size 38 3/4 (43 1/2, 47 1/2, 51 1/2, 55 1/2)”; shown in small size. Note: Tee is intended to fit with several inches of positive ease. 

Gauge: 20 sts x 30 rows = 4” [10 cm] in Right Slanting Lace using larger needle after wet blocking; 24 sts x 34 rows = 4” in Twisted Ribbing using smaller needle

Materials

Yarn: Fibra Natura Flax (100% linen; 137 yards [125 meters]/50 grams): #12 Tarragon (8 (9, 10, 11, 12) hanks)
Needles: US size 4 (3.5 mm) straight needles and US size 2 (2.75 mm) straight needles

Pattern Notes

The smaller needle is used only for ribbing at the top of each piece. The larger needle is used for Sleeve cuff and Curved Hem Edging.

Shape Curved Hem
Row 1 (RS): Bind off 4 sts, remove m, k2tog, work to 2 sts before final m, ssk, remove m, work in patt to end.

Curved Hem Edging
With larger ndl and RS facing, pick up and knit 38 sts along Right Curved edge, 37 (49, 59, 69, 79) sts along BO edge, and 38 sts along Left Curved edge. (113 (125, 135, 145, 155) sts)
Work in Twisted Ribbing patt for 5 rows. Bind off all sts in patt. Sew sides of Edging to bound-off portion of Body Ribbing.

Front

With smaller needle, CO 49 (49, 57, 57, 57) sts.

Sleeves

With smaller needle, CO 25 sts.
Set-up row (RS): K1, p1, k1 tbl, p1, pm, [k1 tbl, p1] to last 5 sts, k1 tbl, pm, p1, k1 tbl, p1, k1. Work Row 2 of Twisted Ribbing patt, then rep Rows 1-2 of Twisted Ribbing patt, 2 times. Switch to larger needle.

Sleeve Cuff
Work in Twisted Ribbing patt for 6 rows. Bind off all sts in patt.

Finishing

Block pieces to finished measurements. Sew Raglan and underarm seams. Sew side seams for 9” from Underarms, leaving rem portion unsewn. Weave in ends.
