Round 1: [K1, p1] to end
Repeat round 1 another 23 times, or until cuff is desired length.
Leg
Round 1: [K3, p1, k1, p1] to end.
Round 2: [Sl 1, k2, p1, k1, p1] to end.
Round 3: [C3f, p1, k1, p1] to end.
Repeat rounds 1-3 another 19 times, or until leg is desired length, ending on round 3.
Heel Flap
The slip stitch heel fap is worked back and forth in rows on half the stitches only. It uses a slip stitch for comfort and durability. Ensure you have exactly 33 (36, 39) stitches on each needle. Size S and L will increase 1 stitch to have an even number of stitches, for ease of later creating the heel turn.
Each row starts with a slip stitch, to aid picking up stitches for the gusset on the next step. Knit rows slip every second stitch across the row.

Row 2: Sl 1, purl to end.
Repeat these 2 rows another 16 (17, 18) times.
Heel turn
Short rows are now worked to shape the top of the heel flap.

Round 2: K1, ssk, k to 3 stitches before marker, k2tog, k1, sl m, patt to end.
Repeat rounds 1 and 2 until 66 (72, 78) stitches remain.
Repeat round 1 twice more, or until desired point for starting instep support.
In-Step
Ribbing instep support is now worked. The top of the foot will continue in established pattern, while the sole of the foot will be worked in 1*1 ribbing. Trying on the sock at this point is recommended, and making the switch from stocking stitch to ribbing at the exact right point for your unique foot.

Ball of foot
Round 1: K to m, sl m, work est patt across instep, sl m.

Round 1: *K1, ssk, k to 3 sts before marker, k2tog, k1, sl m, repeat from * across.
Round 2: Knit
Repeat rounds 1 and 2 until 10 sts remain. Cut yarn leaving a long tail, and graft toe closed.
Finishing
Weave in ends. Block.
