Pattern Notes

This cardigan is knit flat from the top down. After the sts are cast on for the neck opening, a short collar is worked in garter st. Next, sts are increased for the color work yoke before being divided for the sleeves and body. After the body is worked and finished and bound off with a garter stitch edging, sts are then placed back on the needles for the sleeves. The sleeves are also finished with a garter stitch edging. The sts are then picked up for the button band and buttonhole band, which are also knit in garter stitch. Consider going up in needle size for the yoke if you are a tight knitter. You could also consider using a smaller needle size for the button and buttonhole bands especially if they flare out.
