Sandcastle Sampler Pillow

This summer pillow is a fun sampler of various knitting techniques, including seed stitch, stockinette, reverse stockinette, garter stitch, eyelets, and twisted traveling stitches. These techniques combine to create a sandcastle motif on the front of the cushion cover and a seashell motif bordered by wavy lines of eyelets and garter stitch on the back. In addition to featuring a wide variety of textural stitches, this design is also a great opportunity to gain experience at working from charts, because the pattern is fully charted.

Heart of Hearts Mittens

Simple, yet colorful, these classic thrummed mittens are worked from the cuff up, on a neutral background, with three alternating shades of colorful thrums. Easy enough for a first-time thrummer, this is a traditional pattern you’ll come back to again and again. Great as a last minute gift, there’s plenty of room for adaptation with this pattern. For a tonal look, work the mittens using shades of the same color for the thrums and background, or go wild with a random assortment of mixed colors! The thrums create a fuzzy lining on the inside which makes these mittens extra cozy.

Esme Half-Zip Sweater

This project is bound to be the most used sweater in everyone’s handmade wardrobe this season! Utilizing a textured or boucle yarn, a sherpa-like fabric is created. In tandem with clever construction techniques, the finished project will look just like your favorite on-trend fleeces. The sweater is knit top-down yoke-style. Yoke is knit flat for 4-5’’ then joined and knit in the round before dividing for sleeves, leaving a pre-made collar without any steeking required! The zipper is sewn on afterwards and the kangaroo pouch is knit separately then stitched on.
