This lightweight accessory is an interesting knit, yet is simple to work up. Various solid or solid-looking yarns will work well with this summertime favorite. Dress up any outfit with this vivid coral shawl.

Gauge: 23 sts x 30 rows = 4” [10 cm] in Trellis Border patt after wet blocking; 18 sts x 33 rows = 4” [10 cm] in St st after wet blocking

Yarn: Universal Yarn Little Bird (100% microfiber acrylic; 344 yards [315 meters]/100 grams): #106 Go-Go Coral (2 balls)
Needles: US size 4 (3.5 mm) 36” circular needles

Pattern Notes

This shawl is worked from the bottom up. First the Trellis Border is worked. Then the shawl is shaped into a crescent using short-rows and decreases.
In short-row sections, slip all sts pwise with yarn to the WS of the work.

Short-Row Section 1

With RS facing, sl 178 sts. Reattach yarn.
Row 1 (RS): K7, turn.
Row 2 (WS): Sl 1, p5, ssp, p7, turn.
