Asymmetrical Shawl

This asymmetrical shawl is great for highlighting yarns with slow gradient colorways. The stitches transition subtly from a garter stitch to a lacy slip stitch garter and make for a wonderfully textured accessory and statement piece.

Size: 68” wide and 16” deep

Gauge: 24 sts and 40 rows = 4” [10 cm] in St st after wet blocking

Yarn: Wolle’s Yarn Creation (100% cotton; 480 yards [439 meters]/100 grams): Purple Fern IV (1 skein)
Needles: US size 5 (3.75 mm) circular (24”) needles

Lacy Crochet Bind Off

With a crochet hook in your right hand *slip first 2 sts to crochet hook, wrap the working yarn around the crochet hook, pull the yarn through the stitches on the hook, forming one stitch on the crochet hook, (wrap the working yarn around the crochet hook, pull it through the one stitch already on the hook)x3; rep from * until 1 stitch remains on left needle, slip the stitch on the crochet hook, wrap the working yarn around the crochet hook, pull the yarn through the stitches on the hook. Break yarn and pull through remaining stitch.

Finishing

Wash and block using blocking wires to get straight edges. Weave in ends and trim. yarn ball
