Eve Slippers

Skill Level: Easy

Size: To fit foot length 9 (10, 11)” long

Gauge: 20 sts and 28 rows = 4” [10 cm] in St st using larger needles after light blocking.

Materials

Yarn: Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash (100% Superwash Wool; 220 yards [200 meters]/100 grams): 836 Pink Ice (MC, 1 ball), 807 Raspberry (CC, 1 ball)

Needles: US size 4 (3.5 mm) straight or circular, US size 6 (4 mm) straight or circular.

Notions: Tapestry needle, 2 stitch markers

Abbreviations

M1L (Make 1 left leaning increase): Pick up the loop between the sts with the left needle from front to back and knitting it through the back.

M1R (Make 1 right leaning increase): Pick up the loop between the sts with the left needle from back to front and knitting it through the front.

Pattern Notes

The slipper is worked flat and then seamed along the sole of the slipper.

Pattern

Slippers (make 2)

Using CC and smaller needles, CO 63 (73, 83) sts.

Knit 4 rows.

Break CC.

Join MC and change to larger needles.

Row 1 (RS): K31 (36, 41), pm, k1, pm, k to end.

Row 2 (WS): Purl.

Row 3: K to m, sm, m1l, k to m, m1r, sm, k to end. (2 sts inc’d)

Rep Rows 2-3, 6 more times. (77 (87, 97) sts)

Next Row (WS): Purl.

Using MC, k12 (12, 14) rows.

BO all sts, break yarn leaving a long tail.

Bow (make 2)

Using smaller needles and CC, CO 8 sts.

K 23 rows.

BO all sts.

Tie (make 2)

Using smaller needles and CC, CO 3 sts.

K 13 rows.

BO all sts.

Finishing

Fold slipper in half lengthways and using the long tail sew the bottom seam along the BO edge. Sew the back of the heel seam.

Weave in all ends. Wet block slipper lightly.

Wrap Tie tightly around the center of the Bow and sew the CO edge to the BO edge, then sew the Bows to the center front of each slipper.

Weave in any remaining ends.
