Super soft and cozy, these oversized slipper socks can be whipped up in a flash! Sami Slipper Socks are knitted toe-up and two-at-a-time for the adventurous sock knitter. Want to make the slippers slip-proof? Decorate your soles with a non-skid sock paint in a matching or contrasting color!

Size: Finished foot circumference 8.25 (9.5, 10.25)” / [21 (24, 27) cm] x leg length 9.25 (10, 10.25)” / [23 (25, 27) cm]

Gauge: 9 sts and 24 rows = 4” [10 cm] in St st

Materials

Yarn: Cygnet Yarns Chenille Chunky (100% Polyester; 116 yards [106 meters]/100 grams): 4999 Petrol (2 balls)

Needles: US size J/10 (6.0 mm) DPNs or circular

Notions: Tulip Fabric Paint Slick Black, tapestry needle.

Pattern Notes

This pattern is worked in the round from the toe up.

Pattern

Toe

Using any invisible CO technique, CO 5 (6, 7) sts to each of two needles. (10 (12, 14) sts)

Note: You might like to try Judy’s Magic Cast-On.

Rnd 1: K all sts.

Rnd 2: Needle 1: Kfb, k until 2 sts rem, kfb, k1.

Needle 2: Kfb, k until 2 sts rem, kfb, k1. (4 sts total inc’d)

Rep Rnds 1-2 once more. (18 (20, 22) sts)

Foot

K 18 (21, 25) rnds.

Bottom of Heel

Needle 1: K all sts.

Work back and forth on Needle 2 only for the heel of the sock.

Row 1 (RS): K7 (8, 9), W&T.

Row 2 (WS): P5 (6, 7), W&T.

Rep Rows 1-2, working one fewer st on each side until 3 (2, 3) unwrapped sts rem in the center of the needles.

Back of Heel

Row 1 (WS): P across to wrapped st, pick up the wrap first and p it with the st that is wrapped.

Row 2 (RS): K across to wrapped st, pick up the wrap first and k it with the st that is wrapped.

Rep Rows 1-2 until all wrapped sts have been worked, finishing on a WS row.

Needle 2: Turn work, k9 (10, 11), inc 1 st between needles.

Needle 1: K9 (10, 11) sts, inc 1 st between needles.

Next Rnd: Needle 2: K8 (9, 10), k2tog. Rep for Needle 1.

Leg

You will now cont to work in the rnd with the beg of rnd starting at Needle 2.

K for 15 (17, 20) rnds.

Next Rnd: Needle 2: K2tog, work in 1×1 rib beg with p until 2 sts rem, k2tog.

Needle 1: P2tog, work in 1×1 rib beg with k until 2 sts rem, p2tog. (14 (16, 18) sts)

Work in 1×1 rib for 9 rnds.

BO all sts, using a stretchy bind off technique.

Finishing

Weave in ends.

Apply fabric paint to slipper soles.

      Yes, the entire sock is knitted in one piece. The headings help you remember which section of the sock you are knitting. Hope that helps! – Nicola, Editor
