Pattern Notes

This pattern is written to use one skein of yarn with little leftover.

It can be easily customized by adding or subtracting repeats. The Bulky weight sample used 4 vertical repeats, while the Worsted weight sample used 7 vertical repeats.

Note that gauge is not crucial to this project, though it will impact the final measurements and the amount of yarn used. Both yarns use the same needle size to achieve a similar gauge.

Pattern

CO 98 sts.

Main Body

Work Cable Pattern from chart or written instructions until cowl is desired depth, ending after Rnd 8.

BO all sts, using a loose bind off.

Finishing

Cut yarn and weave in any remaining ends.

Gently block to desired dimensions.

    • Hi! So, I think we actually connected over on Ravelry with this question – and I hope that I was able to answer you there?

But, in answer to your question, yes, a Worsted yarn would work just fine – it will depend on your gauge. Since you’re using a slightly thinner yarn then the sample calls for, you might want to try a few different needle sizes and see how your gauge works out.

Any other questions, please, don’t hesitate to reach out – you can message me on Ravelry as SarahDawns, or you can e-mail me.
