Gauge: 21 sts and 22 rows = 4” [10 cm] in Fair-Isle using larger needles after wet blocking.

23 sts and 28 rows = 4” [10 cm] in 1×1 Ribbing using smaller needles after wet blocking.

Materials

Yarn:

Light Weight Yarn  Universal Yarn Deluxe DK Superwash Tweed (90% Superwash Wool, 7% Acrylic, 3% Viscose; 284 yards [259 meters]/100 grams): 412 Ebony (MC), 3 (3, 3, 4, 4, 4) balls; 410 Porcelain (CC1), 3 (3, 3, 4, 4, 4) balls­

Needles: US size 4 (3.5 mm): 24” circular, set of DPNs; US Size 7 (4.5 mm): 24” circular and set of DPNs

Notions: Tapestry needle; stitch markers; stitch holders

Pattern Notes

This sweater is worked seamlessly from the bottom up.

When increasing for Sleeves, work increases in pattern. If the next st will be a MC st, work the m1 increase in MC. If the next st will be a CC st, work the m1 increase in CC.

Pattern

Sleeves

With smaller dpns and MC, CO 45 (47, 47, 49, 49, 51) sts.

Cuff

Rnd 1: P1, *k1, p1; rep from * to end.

Rep Rnd 1 until piece meas 1½”.

Next Rnd: P1, knit to last st, p1.

Switch to larger needles.

Establish Pattern

Rnd 1: With MC, p1, work Row 1 of Sleeve chart (beg at the line for your size) to last st, with MC, p1.

Cont in patt for 3 more rnds.

Inc Rnd: With MC, p1, m1, work in patt to last st, m1, with MC, p1 – 2 sts inc’d.

Rep Inc Rnd every 4 (4, 4, 4, 2, 2) rnds, 0 (2, 11, 13, 2, 3) more times, then rep Inc Rnd every 6 (6, 6, 6, 4, 4) rnds 11 (10, 4, 3, 17, 17) times – 69 (73, 79, 83, 89, 93) sts.

Work even in patt until Sleeve meas 17¾ (18, 18, 18¼, 18¼, 18½)”.

Next Rnd: Work in patt to last 4 (4, 5, 5, 6, 6) sts, BO next 8 (8, 10, 10, 12, 12) sts – 61 (65, 69, 73, 77, 81) sts.

Break yarn, place sts on holder.

Body

With smaller circular needles and MC, CO 178 (194, 210, 226, 242, 258) sts as follows: 89 (97, 105, 113, 121, 129), pm, 89 (97, 105, 113, 121, 129), pm, join to work in the rnd.

Hem

Rnd 1: *P1, (k1, p1) to m; rep from * once more.

Rep Rnd 1 until piece meas 1½”.

Next Rnd: *P1, knit to 1 st before m, p1; rep from * once more.

Switch to larger needles.

Establish Pattern

Rnd 1: *Work Rnd 1 of Body patt to m; rep from * once more.

Cont in patt as est’d until piece meas 14”.

Next Rnd: *Work in patt to 4 (4, 5, 5, 6, 6) sts before m, BO next 8 (8, 10, 10, 12, 12) sts; rep from * once more – 162 (178, 190, 206, 218, 234) sts rem; 81 (89, 95, 103, 109, 117) sts each Front and Back.

Join Body and Sleeves

Note: Maintain both Body and Sleeves in their established patterns. To help keep track of the pattern, you may wish to place stitch markers between pattern repeats.

Rnd 1: With MC, k1, work in patt over Back sts to last st before underarm BO, with MC, k1, pm, working across sts from one Sleeve, with MC, k1, work in patt over Sleeve sts to last st, with MC, k1, pm, with MC, k1 from Front sts, work in patt over Front sts to last st before underarm BO, with MC, k1, pm, working across sts from other Sleeve, with MC, k1, work in patt over Sleeve sts to last st, with MC, k1, pm, join to work in the rnd – 4 stitch markers for each raglan line.

Dec Rnd: *With MC, ssk, work in patt to 2 sts before m, k2tog; rep from * 3 more times – 8 sts dec’d.

Rep Dec Rnd every other rnd 13 (14, 14, 13, 15, 14) more times – 172 (188, 208, 240, 244, 276) sts rem; 33 (35, 39, 45, 45, 51) sts each Sleeve, 53 (59, 65, 75, 77, 87) sts each Front and Back.

Rep Dec Rnd every rnd 8 (10, 12, 16, 16, 20) times – 108 (108, 112, 112, 116, 116) sts rem; 17 (15, 15, 13, 13, 11) sts each Sleeve; 37 (39, 41, 43, 45, 47) sts each Front and Back.

Neck Edging

Break CC. With MC and smaller needle, knit 1 rnd.

Next Rnd: *(K1, p1) to 1 st before m, k1; rep from * 3 more times.

Rep last rnd 4 more times.

BO all sts kwise.

Finishing

Block sweater to finished measurements. Sew underarm seam. Weave in ends.yarn ball
