Selena Scarf

Drawing inspiration from pashminas, this ever-so-slightly oversized scarf lets you add a stylish and light extra layer. It’s easy to make and so easy to wear. Worked entirely in stockinette and seed stitch, this design is great for beginners and may just tempt an experienced crocheter to give knitting a try!

Time: Weekend Project

Skill Level: Beginner

Size: 10” [25 cm] width x 74” [188 cm] length

Gauge: 17 sts and 26 rows = 4” [10 cm] in St st after wet blocking

Materials

Yarn: Sirdar Snuggly DK (55% nylon, 45% acrylic; 179 yards [165 meters]/50 grams): 484 Cherry Pie (5 balls)

Hook/Needles: US size 8 (4.0 mm) 16” straight needles

Notions: Tapestry needle

This pattern is worked from one end of the scarf.

Pattern

Cast on 45
Row 1: K 1, (p1, k1) across. (45 sts at end of this row)

Rows 2-4: Rep row 1.

Row 5: K across.

Row 6: P across.

Rep rows 1-6 until scarf measures 73”, or preferred length.

Rep rows 1-4 one more time.

Bind off.

Finishing

Weave in ends and block.
