Midsummer Headband

The Midsummer Headband is made using a four stitch, four-row repeat stitch pattern with a garter stitch band around all four edges. Each side is different, yet similar, making this a perfectly reversible project — just remember to use a stitch marker so you know which side you’re working on!

Size: 22.75” square

Gauge: 24 sts and 28 rows = 4” [10 cm] in pattern after wet blocking

Materials

Super fine weight yarnYarn: Scheepjes Bamboo Soft (50% Bamboo, 50% Cotton; 164 yards [150 meters]/50 grams): 260 Golden Nugget (3 skeins).

Needles: US Size 4 (3.5 mm)

Notions: Removable marker, tapestry needle.

Pattern Notes

The pattern is worked back and forth in rows. Use a removable stitch marker to mark the RS.

Pattern

CO 132 sts.

Rows 1-4: K.

Row 5: K4, *k2, p2; rep from * to last 4 sts, k4.

Row 6: K5, *p2, k2; rep from * to last 7 sts, p2, k5.

Row 7: K4, *p2, k2; rep from * to last 4 sts, k4.

Row 8: K4, p1, *k2, p2; rep from * to last 7 sts, k2, p1, k4.

Rows 9-132: Rep Rows 5-8.

Rows 133-136: K.

BO all sts.

Finishing

Weave in all ends and block to measurements.
