Cabled Owl Hat

Light Weight Yarn Bergere de France Pur merinos francais (100% merino; 131 yards [120 meters]/50 grams): Palmier (1 (1, 2) balls)
Needles: US size 7 (4.0 mm) 16” circular or dpns
Notions: Marker, cable needle, tapestry needle

Abbreviations

C4B: Slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at back of work, k2 from left needle, k2 from cable needle.
C4F: Slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at front of work, k2 from left needle, k2 from cable needle.

Pattern Notes

The hat is worked bottom up in the round.

CO 80 (96,112) sts. Join to knit in the round taking care not to twist sts and pm to mark beg of rnd.
Rnd 1: *K2, p2, k2, p1, k2, p2, k2, p3; rep from * to end.
Rep Rnd 1 five more times. Work Rnds 1 to 22 of owl motif from chart or written instructions.
