The Mango Flower Top is a simple but fashionable take on the knit tank. The top panel features a row of mango flowers in between two chains for an elegant nod to summer.

Needles: US size 8 (5.0 mm) 24” circular

Notions: Markers, cable needle, tapestry needle

Pattern Notes

This pattern is worked in the round from the bottom up.

Pattern

CO 136 (152, 168, 184, 200, 216, 232) sts. PM at the beginning and join to knit in the rnd. Place a second marker after 68 (76, 84, 92, 100, 108, 116) to designate the halfway point.

Work in Garter Stitch for 2”.

Work in St st for 13” or desired length.

On the next rnd, separate for the front and back.

Row 1 (RS): BO 4 sts, knit to 2nd m. Turn work. (64 (72, 80, 88, 96, 104, 112) sts)

Row 2 (WS): BO 3 sts, purl across. (61 (69, 77, 85, 93, 101, 109) sts)

Continue working flat in St st for 3.5 (4, 4.5, 5, 5.5, 6, 6.5)”.

Next Row (RS): *P1, sl1 wyif; rep from * to end of row.

Next Row: Sl1 wyib, *k1, sl1 wyib; rep from * to end of row.

Work in St st for 3 rows.

Next Row (WS): K0 (1, 5, 0, 0, 2, 1), *knit the next st wrapping the yarn 3 times around the needle) 5 times, k1; rep from * to last 0 (1, 5, 0, 0, 2, 0) sts, k0 (1, 5, 0, 0, 2, 0).

Next Row: P0 (1, 5, 0, 0, 2, 0), *slip next 5 sts to CN and wrap yarn around the 5 sts twice, slip 5 sts to RH needle, p1; rep from * to last 0 (1, 5, 0, 0, 2, 0) sts, p0 (1, 5, 0, 0, 2, 0).

  • I have been trying to print this pattern out but all I get are a mess of symbols from facebook, tweeter, etc. and a lot of compute language blocking the actual directions. Please help.
