Lining (optional)

Draw lining on wrong side of fabric using the schematic.

Trace around again adding 0.75” all the way around.

Cut out lining.

Fold all edges of lining in 1” and press.

Place wrong side of lining on top of wrong side of knit bag. Lining will be slightly smaller.

Hand stitch lining to bag.

Seaming

With the inside of the bag facing up, fold the bottom of the bag up 5”.
Sew the sides together where they have been folded with scrap yarn or sewing thread.

Shoulder Strap

Attach a lobster clasp to an O ring
Rep with another lobster clasp and O ring.
Cut 6 strands of each color of yarn, each 60” long.
Divide strands into 3 sets of 4 and braid them together.
Thread one end of braid through an O ring with clasp and fold the braid over with the ring in the middle.

Sew the fold together and wrap both layers with thread for about 0.5”. Clip short end of braid above the wrap.
Rep previous step on other end of braid so that entire strap is 50” or desired length.

Wrist Strap

Attach a lobster clasp to an O ring.

Cut 6 strands of each color of yarn, each 20” long.

Divide strands into 3 sets of 4 and braid them together.

Fold braid in half.

Thread ends of braid through the O ring with clasp and fold the ends over with the ring in the middle so that the whole strap measures 7” from ring end to folded end.

Sew the fold together and wrap all layers with thread for about 0.5”. Clip short ends of braid above the wrap.

Finishing

Sew an O ring to both corners of the front top of the bag so that half the ring is inside the bag and half is peaking out. The rings should be covered when the bag is closed.

Sew the decorative button on the outside of the bag flap point.

Fold the flap down and mark where the snap parts will go on the front of the bag and the inside of the flap point.

Sew on the snap.

Clip on one or both straps.
