Summer Festival Tank

Short and cropped tops are the in thing for summer style, and this top does not disappoint. The fringed bottom gives the cabled tank an edginess that would be perfect paired with jean shorts—and a concert or festival celebrating long summer days.

Rnd 1: *1-1 LC, 1-1 RC; rep from * to end.

Pattern Notes

This pattern is worked in the round from the bottom up. Back and Front are separated at underarm and worked flat, then the shoulders are seamed together. Stitches are then picked up along neckline and armhole to create a neat border.

Neckline

Using smaller needles, pick up and k73 (76, 80, 84, 84, 87, 87, 91, 95) sts around neck starting at one shoulder. Join in the rnd and pm at the beg of your rnd.

Knit 1 rnd.

BO all sts loosely knitwise.

 

Armholes

Using smaller needles, pick up and k63 (71, 79, 83, 88, 96, 103, 109, 115) sts around armhole starting at shoulder. Join in the rnd and pm at the beg of your rnd.

Knit 1 rnd.

BO all sts loosely knitwise.

Repeat for the other armhole.

Weave in all ends, wash and block to dimensions.

 

Add fringes

Use a cardboard about 5” long to cut 3 threads of about 10″. Fold them in half, insert crochet hook into the CO edge and pull it, then pass the thread through the loop to attach the fringe. Repeat 15 (16, 19, 21, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30) more times, spacing fringes about 2″. yarn ball
