Work with one strand or 2 strands. (Grey and white flowers were made using only 1 strand.)

Cast on 40 to 60 stitches. Knit across the row, binding off each stitch as you proceed. Weave in tail.

Leave a long yarn end, and thread into a yarn needle.

Beginning at the opposite end, roll into a loose coil, pass the needle across the coils, passing through all layers. Continue back and forth clockwise to secure all the layers together.

Weave yarn ends into the finished work.

Sew a pearl or button in the centers of the flowers, and sew the flowers onto the hat.
