Super fine weight yarn Knit Picks Stroll Fingering (75% Superwash Merino Wool, 25% Nylon; 462 yards [422 meters]/100 grams): 27065 Matcha Tonal, 1 skein
Needles: US size 1½ (2.5 mm): circular or DPNs
Notions: Stitch markers; tapestry needle

Diamond and Eyelet Pattern
Rnd 1: *K3 (4, 5), (yo, ssk) 3 times, (k2tog, yo) 3 times; rep from * around.
Rnd 2 and all even number rnds: Knit.
Rnd 3: *K4 (5, 6), (yo, ssk) 3 times, (k2tog, yo) 2 times, k1; rep from * around.
Rnd 5: *K5 (6, 7), (yo, ssk) 3 times, k2tog, yo, k2; rep from * around.
Rnd 7: *K6 (7, 8), (yo, ssk) 3 times, k3; rep from * around.
Rnd 9: *K4 (5, 6), k2tog, yo, k1, (yo, ssk) 3 times, k2; rep from * around.

Pattern Notes

The socks are worked from cuff to toe with a heel flap.

Pattern

Sock (make 2)

Cuff

CO 60 (64, 68) sts.
Work in 2×2 Rib for 1½”.

Leg

Work in Diamond and Eyelet Pattern until piece meas 6½” or desired length from CO edge. Make note of the last rnd of Diamond and Eyelet Pattern worked.

Heel Flap

Turn work so WS is facing
Row 1 (WS): Sl1, p29 (31, 33). Remaining 30 (32, 34) sts will be held for instep.
Row 2 (RS): (Sl1, k1) 15 (16, 17) times.
Rep Rows 1-2, 13 (14, 15) more times – 15 (16, 17) chain edge sts at each selvedge.

Turn Heel

Row 1 (RS): Sl1, k17 (18, 19), ssk, k1, turn.
Row 2 (WS): Sl1, p7, p2tog, p1, turn.
Row 3: Sl1, k to 1 st before gap, ssk (1 st from each side of gap), k1, turn.
Row 4: Sl1, p to 1 st before gap, p2tog (1 st from each side of gap), p1, turn.
Rep Rows 3-4 until 18 (20, 22) heel flap sts rem. On last 2 rows, omit the k and p sts after dec if necessary.

Gusset and Foot

Rnd 1: K18 (20, 22) heel sts, pick up and k15 (16, 17) sts along edge of heel flap, work 30 (32, 34) sts of instep in pattern, pick up and k15 (16, 17) sts on other side of heel flap, k9 (10, 11) sts to center of heel, place marker to indicate beg of rnd – 78 (84, 90) sts.
Rnd 2: K to 3 sts before instep, k2tog, k1, work instep in pattern as establish, k1, ssk, k to end of rnd – 2 sts dec’d.
Rnd 2: Work Instep in patt as establish, knit sole sts.
Rep Rnds 1-2 until 60 (64, 68) total sts rem; 30 (32, 34) sts each for sole and instep.

Foot

Cont in patt as est until foot meas 2” short of total foot length.

Toe

K to start of instep sts and place marker to indicate new beginning of rnd and instep sts. Optional, place another marker after next 30 (32, 34) sts to indicate beginning of sole sts.

Rnd 1: Knit.
Rnd 2: K1, ssk, k to last 3 sts of instep, k2tog, k1, k1, ssk, k to last 3 sole sts, k2tog, k1 – 4 sts dec’d.
Rep Rnds 1-2 until 28 (32, 36) total sts rem; 14 (16, 18) sts each for bottom and top of foot.

Finishing

Graft toe close using Kitchener St. Weave in all ends.
