Mountain Sunrise Wall Hanging

This wall hanging is a fun change-of-pace project that can be knit in an evening. This pattern is knit from the top down and uses simple intarsia colorwork with minimal color changes per row. The fabric is decreased to a midpoint towards the bottom of the piece, providing the perfect foundation for its chic fringed bottom edge! A wooden dowel or large pair of knitting needles is then fastened to the top of the tapestry to provide support for hanging.

Pattern Notes

  • To work an intarsia chart, drop old yarn and twist counter-clockwise once around new yarn at each color change.
  • For each strand of yarn, you may find it easier to use an intarsia bobbin or roll your yarn in the butterfly method.
  • It is easiest to pick up a new bobbin at each new color change, however, if there is already a bobbin of the same color on the row, you can carry the yarn behind the work to knit the second section.
