For Eyre, the best part about owning a yarn shop is creating a good collection of products for her customers and making up the samples to showcase the yarns and beads. She has cultivated a selection of fine yarns from Araucania, Debbie Bliss, Fiber Company, HiKoo, Louisa Harding, Madeline Tosh, and Misti Alpaca. In addition to the luxury fibers like Louisa Harding’s Grace Hand Dyed and Grace Silk and Wool, Knitting Corner and Beadery carries the staples from Universal, Cascade and Plymouth. Combine a skein with a yarn bowl from locally run potters Rising Sun Earthworks and you will have a nice souvenir of your journey. While you are checking out the beads, yarn, and patterns, your non-knitting companions can browse in Island Books next door. If time permits, head further north to a tasting at Newport Winery.
