Medium weight yarn Yarn: Knit Picks Swish Worsted (100% Merino; 110 yards [101 meters]/50 grams): 25631 Dove Heather (MC, 2 (3, 3, 3, 3) balls)

Super fine weight yarn

Knit Picks Stroll (75% Merino, 25% Nylon; 231 yards [211 meters]/50 grams): 25603 Dogwood Heather (CC1, 1 ball for all sizes), 27234 Hollyberry (CC2, 1 ball for all sizes)

Needles: US size 7 (4.5 mm) 24” circulars and DPNs, US size 6 (4.0 mm) 16” and 24” circular, US size 2 (2.75 mm) DPNs (for bows)

Notions: Markers, stitch holders, tapestry needle, FrayCheck (optional)

Abbreviations

M1PL: With the left needle tip, lift the running thread between sts from front to back, then purl into the back.

M1PR: With the left needle tip, lift the running thread between sts from back to front, then purl into the front.

Yoke Inc Row (RS): *K to 1 st before m, M1R, k1, sm, k1, M1L; rep from * 3 more times, k to end. (8 sts inc’d)

Yoke Inc Row (WS): *P to 1 st before m, M1PL, p1, sm, p1, M1PR; rep from * 3 more times, p to end. (8 sts inc’d)

Yoke Inc Rnd (RS): *K to 1 st before m, M1R, k1, sm, k1, M1L; rep from * 3 more times, k to end. (8 sts inc’d)

Body-Only Inc Rnd (RS): *K to 1 st before m, M1L, k1, sm, k to m, sm, k1, M1R, k to 1 st before m, M1L, k1, sm, k to m, sm, k1, M1R, k to end. (4 sts inc’d)

Pattern Notes

This pattern is worked in the round from the top down, seamlessly.

The bows are worked flat on DPNs.

Pattern

With longer circular needles and MC, CO 21 (30, 30, 29, 30). Do not join.

Set-Up Row (WS): P1, pm, p2 (5, 5, 4, 4), pm, p15 (18, 18, 19, 20), pm, p2 (5, 5, 4, 4), pm, p1.

Note: Read ahead as Yoke and Neck Shaping are worked at the same time.

Yoke Shaping

Work the Yoke Inc Row every row 4 (2, 1, 1, 1) times, then every RS row 11 (13, 15, 16, 17) times. Work the Body-Only Inc Rnd every other rnd 1 (1, 0, 0, 0) times. At the completion of Yoke Shaping, 20 (21, 20, 21, 23) raglan increases will have been worked in the body.

Neck Shaping

AT THE SAME TIME, begin shaping the neck edge. Increase 1 st at neck edge every 4th row 3 (3, 3, 3, 3) times, then every RS row 2 (3, 3, 3, 3) times.

Next Row (RS): *K to 1 st before m, M1R, k1, sm, k1, M1L; rep from * 3 more times, k to end, using the cable cast on method, CO 3 (4, 4, 5, 6) sts, join to work in the rnd. PM for BOR.

Cont Yoke Shaping as as est. When Yoke Shaping is complete, move on to Separating Body and Sleeves.

Separating Body and Sleeves

Remove BOR m. K to next m and remove it. Place 32 (35, 37, 38, 40) Sleeve sts on waste yarn or st holder. CO 0 (0, 0, 2, 2) underarm sts, placing a new BOR m at center of underarm. K across back sts. Remove next m. Place 32 (35, 37, 38, 40) sleeve sts on waste yarn or st holder. CO 0 (0, 0, 2, 2) underarm sts, k to end.

Body

Cont working straight until Body meas 4.75 (5.75, 6, 6.25, 6.75)” from underarm.

Switch to smaller 24” circular needles.

Ribbing Rnd: *K2, p2; rep from * to end.

Rep Ribbing Rnd as est for 1 (1.5, 1.5, 2, 2)”.

BO all sts in patt.

Sleeves

Make both alike.

Return held 32 (35, 37, 38, 40) Sleeve sts to DPNs. Join yarn to center of underarm. Pick up and k 0 (0, 0, 1, 1) underarm sts in CO sts, then knit across all Sleeve sts. Pick up and knit 0 (0, 0, 1, 1) underarm sts.

Knit 3 rnds.

Sleeve Dec Rnd: K1, ssk, k to 3 sts from end, k2tog, k1. (2 sts dec’d)

Rep the Sleeve Dec Rnd every 6 (6, 7, 7, 8) rnds 4 more times. (22 (25, 27, 28, 30) sts)

Work even until Sleeve meas 6 (6.25, 6.5, 6.75, 7.25)” or 1.5” shorter than desired length.

K 1 rnd, decreasing 2 (1, 3, 0, 2) sts evenly. (20 (24, 24, 28, 28) sts)

Ribbing Rnd: *K2, p2; rep from * to end.

Rep Ribbing Rnd as est for 1.5”.

BO all sts in patt.

Bows (make 9 total, 5 of one color and 4 of the other)

With one smaller DPN and CC1 or CC2, CO 9 sts.

K 28 rows.

BO all sts.

Finishing

Weave in ends.

Block.

Cut a yard-long length of yarn to match each Bow. Pinch Bow in center and wrap middle of yarn length around the bow several times. Use tapestry needle to secure Bow to Sweater, using photos as placement guide. Tie ends in a knot on the inside of Sweater. Put a dot of FrayCheck on each knot (optional).
