Yarn: Lang Yarns Oceania (70% Cotton / 30% Viscose; 153 yards [140 meters] / 1.75 ounces [50 grams]): 025 7 (8, 9, 10) (11, 12, 13) balls.

Needles: US Size 3 (3.25 mm), US size 5 (3.75 mm) 32” circulars,

Notions: Removable markers, tapestry needle.

Pattern Notes

Sweater is worked back and forth from the bottom up in four separate pieces, then sewn together.

If you want to make your sweater shorter/longer, work one or less/more 22-rows patt rep. Remember that you will require more yarn for a longer sweater.

Circular needles are used to accommodate large number of sts. Do not join, work in rows.

Slip st at the beginning of every row.; at RS rows k-wise with yarn in back (wyb), and at beginning of WS rows p-wise, with yarn in front (wyf).

With smaller needles, CO 103 (119, 135, 149) (165, 181, 195) sts.

Work 18 rows in K1, P1 rib.

Change to larger needles.

Set-up Row (RS): Knit, dec evenly 8 (11, 14, 15) (18, 21, 22) sts. (95 (108, 121, 134) (147, 160, 173) sts)

Work 3 Rows in St st.

Change to Lace pattern.

Work even in Lace Pattern for 18 rows ending with a WS row.

Work 4 rows Stockinette.

Rep these 22 rows 6 (6, 6, 6) (7, 7, 7) times.

Shape Back Neck and Shoulders

Mark center 41 (44, 45, 44) (45, 46, 49) sts.

Next Row (RS): Knit to first marker, join second ball of yarn and BO marked center sts, knit to end of row.

Working on both sides of neck with separate balls of yarn, BO 3 sts at each neck edge. (24 (29, 35, 42) (48, 54, 59) sts)

Purl 1 row.

BO all sts Kwise.

Front

Work same as Back.

Sleeves

With smaller needles, CO 57 (57, 73, 85) (85, 97, 97)) sts.

Work 18 rows in K1, P1 rib.

Change to larger needles.

Set-up Row (RS): Knit, inc evenly 12 (12, 9, 10) (10, 11, 11) sts. (69 (69, 82, 95) (95, 108, 108) sts)

Work 3 Rows in St st.

Change to Lace pattern.

Work even in Lace Pattern for 18 rows ending with a WS row.

Knit 4 Rows.

Rep these 22 rows 4 times.

BO all sts Kwise.

Finishing

Weave in ends and block.

Seam shoulders and side seams.

I-cord Neck edging

With RS facing and smaller needles, CO 2 sts and, beg at Left Shoulder seam, pick up and knit 4 sts along Left Front Neck edge, 1 st in every BO st along Front, 4 sts along Right Front and Back Neck edges, 1 st in every BO st along Back, and 4 sts along Right Back Edge. (100 (106, 108, 106) (108, 110, 116) sts.

Next Round (RS): *K2, ssk, slide these 3 sts back to the left needle; rep from * for I-cord.  BO last 3 sts and sew them together with beg sts of I-cord
