Pattern Notes

The color changes in this pattern are achieved by slipping stitches. Only one color per row is used.

Carry A and B up the side of the work throughout the entire piece. Cut C after every sequence.

How to Read the Slip Stitch Chevron Chart: Only one color is used per row. The color shown in the first stitch of any given row is the color that will be used for that row. On RS rows, knit all stitches in the color you’re working with and slip the stitches that are not in that color. On WS rows, do the exact same thing – knit the stitches in the color you’re working with and slip the stitches in the other color. Always work 2 rows in the same color – a stitch will never change color on the WS row. Leave unused colors hanging at the side of the work.

In doing repeats of Slip Stitch Chevron, you end rows 29-30 with yarn B, then start row 1 with yarn B. That won’t work.

There’s no row 12 for the slip stitch pattern, but the instructions say row 13 to 24 should repeat 1 through 12

Row 12 is a wrong side row so it should be like row 2 and the other wrong side rows.

This pattern mentions a pattern chart; however, there is no chart link provided. This seems to be a common problem with a lot of your patterns. Please add a chart link at the end of this pattern. Thank you.

Hi! It’s now 2/8/21. Have all the pattern corrections been incorporated in the above pattern? Did the designer give instructions for the larger blanket size pattern? Are they available somewhere? Thanks for your help!

Hello Marji! All pattern corrections have been incorporated above. I don’t believe there is a larger version of this afghan, but the Ridge pattern and Slip Stitch Chevron pattern is (multiple of 12 sts + 3) which could help you increase the size on your own. Hope that helps! – Nicola, Editor

This pattern is very confusing! In the pattern notes it says on WS to knit stitches in color you are working and slip the stitches in the other color.
In the chevron section, row 2 and all WS rows it says purl all st of same color and slip all stitches of other color. I believe the second (purl) is correct. It is coming out beautiful but it was much trial and error.

Has this pattern been corrected? Also I would like to make the size of this blanket 60 inches by 72 inches. Can you help me. I would consider myself still a beginner but would like to try this.

Hi Donna! We’ve just made a correction to the pattern for Rows 11,12,15 and 16 to be yarn B. In regards to your other question, you will need to cast on a multiple of 12 sts + 3. If your gauge is the same as the pattern states, cast on 171 stitches to get a width of approximately 60″. Hope that helps! – Nicola

  • I believe that there is an error with this pattern. Rows 11,12,15 and 16 should be yarn B.

Hi Ann! No, it is not reversible. The wrong side looks kind of like reverse stockinette stitch, but a bit different since there are many slipped stitches. Hope that helps! – Nicola
