Special Stitches

Emily Ocker’s Cast-On

*Make a loop around your finger.
Using a crochet hook, insert it under the loop on your finger and pull through the yarn connected to the ball.
Take the hook and grab/pull through the yarn again to create one stitch. *
Repeat from * to * as needed depending on the cast-on required.

Pattern Notes

This blanket is completely seamless. The edging is an applied I-cord that helps the blanket lay flat. A good soak and aggressive blocking is necessary to achieve the finished size.
The needle length to use for this depends on your preference on working large amounts of stitches in the round as well as casting on a small number of stitches to work in the round. This piece can be worked using magic loop until you have more stitches then can easily be worked magic loop at which point they can be transferred to a 60” circular needle.
