Pattern Notes

Two rectangles sewn together create this poncho.

The pattern is completely reversible.

Start with 2×2 Ribbing edge. Work the Melange Pattern, using the chart or written instructions. End with 2×2 Ribbing edge. If you prefer a longer rectangle, each Melange Pattern repeat is 72 rows and 13” / [33 cm] long. You can add a whole patt rep or you can add extra rows within the patt rep for shorter length of the rectangle. Each section within the Melange Pattern is 18 rows long, add rows symmetrically in increament of 2 or 4 rows.

Hi Jo! The size is from small through XL but you will also need to consider the body length of the poncho, it is also from the small to XL, but there is a variety of body sizes and for some the small size might not be a fit, if they are extra long and lean and wise versa if someone is XL size but short body length. The knitted sample is the medium size of 22″ and the body length is 31″. I strongly suggest that before deciding on what size to knit see on their body where each body length will end and make the decision based on that. I know it’s an extra step but it allows to truly make it to fit exactly as the knitter would like to. Hope that helps! – Nicola, Editor
