This adorable baby costume features a hat with raccoon face and ears, onesie with long sleeves and a striped tail for the most curious of babies.

Finishing

Sew snap tape to right shoulder seam, overlapping garter stitch edge. Tack sleeve edge in place.

Sew sleeves and side seams.

Leg edging

With CC1, pick up and knit 32 (34) sts along left leg opening.

Knit 2 rows.

BO knitwise.

Repeat for right leg opening.

Sew tail seam, stuffing lightly with fiberfill as you go. Sew tail in place as shown in photos.

Weave in ends.

Hat

Ribbing

With CC1, CO 46 (56) sts.

Work in K2, P2 Rib for 1 (1.25)”.

Change to MC.

Body

Rows 1-16: Work 11 (16) sts in MC, work 24 sts from chart, work 11 (16) sts in MC.

Work even in MC until Hat meas 6 (7)” from beginning.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail.

Finishing

Cut eyes and ears out of felt as shown in photos.  Sew in place.

Sew back and top seams.

Weave in ends.

    I finished the project, I would like more information as how to close the bottom, allowing to open it to change the diaper, and information as how to get the ears on the hat. When changing colors for the hat to follow the chart, do we cut the yarn with a long tail each time? Thank you very much, Lovely project.
