Like many knitters while Theresa Shingler learnt to knit as a child, it wasn't until she had children of her own that the knitting bug really took off, she discovered gorgeous wools, modern designs and then later the exciting world of designing.
Living as she does with her family in the English Midlands her mind is constantly turned by form, texture and colour, especially the colours and texture of nature, the play of light across the landscape and the worn and faded ruins of the many historical sites found in her part of middle England, often overlooked, but endlessly fascinating in the detail.

The Alanna Shadow Stripe Cardigan is a unique take on classic striped cardigans. The broad stripes down the body and arms are worked by using as the main color a toning DK and Lace yarn, for the stripe a contrasting lace strand is used which creates a shadow like stripe against the DK yarn.

The Sheer Droplet top was inspired by the beads of condensation that form on and run down the sides of a glass of ice cold water on a hot day. The sheer panel up the back and at the front cowl neck are formed by dropped stitches that give an open and airy droplet effect.
