Parodia Sweater

An oversized sweater in a lace pattern is just right for a boho-chic look! Named after Parodia cacti which has blooming yellow flowers, this sunny green top is the perfect breezy piece to add to your closet.

Needles: US Size 8 (5.0 mm) 24” circular and DPNs, US Size 7 (4.5 mm) DPNs

Abbreviations

Sk2p – Slip one st, knit the next two sts together, pass slipped st over. decrease 2 sts.

Pattern Notes

The pullover is worked from the bottom up in the round. The lace pattern may be worked from charts or written instructions. It is split at the level of the underarms to work the front and back separately and joined at the shoulders with a 3-needle bind off.

Stitches are picked up around the armholes for the sleeves which are worked the round.

With RS facing, using larger DPNs, beg at the underarms, PU and knit 52 (58, 60, 66, 66, 70) sts around the armholes. Pm and join to work in the rnd.

Next Rnd: K1 (1, 1, 1, 1, 3), work Sleeve Lace Pattern 1 to last 2 (0, 2, 0, 0, 2) sts, k2 (0, 2, 0, 0, 2).

Work even until sleeve meas 2”.

Dec Rnd: K1, k2tog, work to last 2 sts in pattern, ssk. (2 sts dec’d)

Weave in ends. Block to measurements.

Neck

With RS facing, beg at the right shoulder seam, using smaller DPNs, pick up and knit 27 (31, 33, 35, 37, 39) sts along back neck, 25 sts along left front neck, 13 (15, 15, 17, 19, 19) sts along front neck, 25 sts along right front neck. PM and join to work in the round. (90 (96, 98, 102, 106, 108) sts)

Work in 1×1 Rib until collar meas 0.75”.
