Gauge: 21 sts and 28 rows = 4” [10 cm] in st st 

Materials

Yarn: Patons Canadiana (100% acrylic; 205 yards [187 meters]/100 grams): #10725 Clearwater (MC, 1 ball), #10712 Lime Juce (A, 1 ball), #10628 Tangy (B, 1 ball), #10008 Aran (C, 1 ball) OR
#10413 Raspberry (MC, 1 ball), #10628 Tangy (A, 1 ball), #10712 Lime Juice (B, 1 ball), #10008 Aran (C, 1 ball)
Needles: US size 6 (4 mm) straight needles
Notions: Stuffing, two ¾ inch [2 cm] buttons, small quantity of black and red yarn for embroidery, one knitting needle size US size 6 (4 mm) straight. 

Pattern

Base

With MC, CO 9 sts.
Row 1 (RS): Knit.
Row 2: Purl.
Row 3: Kfb, knit to last 2 sts, kfb, k1.
Row 4: Purl.
Rep last 2 rows 3 times more. (17 sts)
Cont even in stocking st until work from beg measures 8” [20.5 cm], ending on a purl row.
Next Row (RS): K1, k2tog, knit to last 3 sts, ssk, k1.
Next Row: Purl.
Rep last 2 rows 3 times more; 9 sts. BO.

Body (Make 2 Like Pieces)

With MC, CO 51 sts.
Work 4” [10 cm] in stocking st, ending on a purl row.
Dec 1 st at each end of next and following 14th row. (47 sts rem)
Change to A and work 24 rows in stocking st, AT SAME TIME, dec 1 st at each end of following 14th row from previous dec. (45 sts rem)
Change to MC and work 12 rows in stocking st, AT SAME TIME, dec 1 st at each end of following 14th row from previous dec. BO. (43 sts rem) 

Left Leg
With B, CO 16 sts. Work 4 rows stocking st.
**With MC, work 2 rows stocking st.
With C, work 2 rows stocking st.
With A, work 2 rows stocking st.**
With B, work 4 rows stocking st.
Rep last 10 rows twice more, then rep from ** to ** once more.
With B, work 2 rows stocking st.

Shape Foot
Row 1 (RS): K7, m1, k2, m1, k7.
Row 2 and alt rows: Purl.
Row 3: K8, m1, k2, m1, K8.
Row 5: K9, m1, k2, m1, K9.
Row 7: K10, m1, k2, m1, k10. (24 sts)
Row 8: Purl.
Dec 1 st each end of next and following alt row once more. (20 sts rem)
Next Row (WS): P3, (p2tog, p2) 4 times, p1. BO. (16 sts rem) 

Right Leg

Work as for Left Leg, substituting A for B, B for C and MC for A.

Arms (Make 2)

With A, CO 16 sts.
Work 4½” [11.5 cm] in stocking st, ending on a purl row.
Divide sts onto 2 needles with point ends aligned. With 3rd needle, knit both sets of sts tog to join. (8 sts rem) 

Make Fingers

Row 1: K2; turn.
Rows 2-6: K2.
Row 7: K2tog, BO.
Join A to rem sts and work Rows (1-7) 3 times (4 fingers made).

Eyes (Make 2)

With C, CO 8 sts.
Work 8 rows stocking st. BO, leaving a long end.

Horns (Make 2)

With MC, CO 10 sts.
Work 8 rows stocking st.
Next row: (k2tog) 5 times; Break yarn, leaving a long end; Draw end tightly through rem 5 sts; sew back seam.

Finishing

Sew Front and Back of Body pieces tog, leaving cast on edges open; sew Base to cast on edges, leaving an opening to insert stuffing; stuff Body; sew opening closed; sew Arms and Legs seams, stuffing as you sew; sew to Body as shown; stuff Horns and sew in position, thread yarn end from Eye onto tapestry needle and stitch loosely all around outer edge of Eye; place button onto WS of Eye and draw stitching tightly closed around button, embroider center of Eye with B as shown, sew to Front of Body, with black yarn, work chain st mouth as shown, with red yarn, work satin st tongue as shown. yarn ball
