Pattern Notes

The front and back hems are worked separately and then joined to work the body in the round up to the underarms.

The work is then split to work the front and back separately.

The shoulders are joined by 3-needle bind off.

The Floral Motif pattern is worked both flat and in the round.

Separate charts and written instructions are provided for both.

Back Hem

With CC1, CO 93 (101, 109, 117, 125, 133, 141) sts. Do not join.

Knit 4 rows.

Next Row (RS): Knit.

Next Row (WS): K2, purl to last 2 sts, k2.

Rep last 2 rows once more.

Change to CC2 and knit 2 rows.

Change to CC3.

Next Row (RS): With CC3, k2, *sl1 wyib, k1; rep from * to last st, k1.

Next Row (WS): K2, *sl1 wyif, k1; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2.

Change to CC2 and knit 2 rows.

Change to CC1.

Change to MC and begin working Floral Motif pattern (flat) from chart or written instructions changing colors every 2 rows in the following order:

Break yarn and place sts on stitch holder or spare needle.

Front Hem

Work same as for Back Hem. Do not break yarn.

Join Front and Back Hems

Next Row (RS): Work in pattern to last 2 sts, holding Back Hem sts on a spare needle at the back, working 1 st from each needle, k2tog twice, pm, work in pattern to last 2 sts of Back Hem, holding Front Hem sts in front, working 1 st from each needle, k2tog twice, pm for beg of rnd. (182 (198, 214, 230, 246, 262, 278) sts)

Rnd 1: *Work next even-numbered Floral Motif pattern (in the rnd) from chart or written instructions to 2 sts before marker, p2, sm; rep from * once more.

Rnd 2: *Work next odd-numbered Floral Motif pattern (in the rnd) from chart or written instructions to 2 sts before marker, k2, sm; rep from * once more.

Rep last 2 rnds until piece meas about 7” from CO edge, ending with Rnd 1.

Change to MC.

Next Rnd: Knit.

Next Rnd: *Knit to 2 sts before marker, p2, sm; rep from * once more.

Rep last 2 rnds until piece meas 14” from CO edge, ending with Rnd 1.

Divide Front and Back

Next Rnd: *Knit to 2 sts before marker, kfb twice, remove marker; rep from * once more, sl 2 sts back to left needle, place last 93 (101, 109, 117, 125, 133, 141) sts from right-hand needle on holder for Back. Begin working flat back and forth for Front.

Front

Row 1 (RS): Knit.

Row 2 (WS): K2, purl to last 2 sts, k2.

Rep last 2 rows until Armhole meas 1”, ending with a WS row.

Front Yoke

Begin working Floral Motif pattern (flat) from chart or written instructions, changing colors every 2 rows in the following order:

MC – 2 rows

CC2 – 2 rows

CC1 – 2 rows

CC3 – 2 rows

Work 5 (5, 6, 6, 6, 7, 7) repeats of Floral Motif pattern, then Rows 1-2 once more.

Change to CC1.

Next Row (RS): Knit.

Next Row (WS): K2, purl to last 2 sts, k2.

Change to CC2 and knit 2 rows.
