Yoke

Note: When decreasing or binding off sts over Rnd 1 of Cluster St Pattern, the yos are not counted as sts. Let them drop before you decrease or bind off. They are also not counted when st count numbers are given.

You will have to work with reduced cluster st bundles next to neck openings and sleeve markers. Please work them as described:

2 into 2: Sl 2 sts as if to purl, letting yos drop and pulling sl sts to length, sl those 2 sts back to left needle, insert right needle into rightmost st and ktbl, insert right needle into all elongated sts and k2togtbl on RS rows, accordingly ptbl and p2togtbl on WS rows.

2 into 3: Sl 3 sts as if to purl, letting yos drop and pulling sl sts to length, sl those 3 sts back to left needle, insert right needle into 2 rightmost sts and k2togtbl, insert right needle into all elongated sts and k3togtbl on RS rows, accordingly p2togtbl and p3togtbl on WS rows.

3 into 3: Sl 3 sts as if to purl, letting yos drop and pulling sl sts to length, sl those 3 sts back to left needle, k3togtbl, yo, k3togtbl, accordingly p3togtbl on WS rows.

3 into 4: Sl 4 sts as if to purl, letting yos drop and pulling sl sts to length, sl those 4 sts back to left needle, k4togtbl, yo, k4togtbl, accordingly p4togtbl on WS rows.

4 into 4: Sl 4 sts as if to purl, letting yos drop and pulling sl sts to length, sl those 4 sts back to left needle, insert right needle into 2 rightmost st and k2togtbl, insert right needle into all elongated sts and k4togtbl, yo, k4togtbl on RS rows, accordingly p2togtbl and p4togtbl on WS rows.

4 into 5: Sl 5 sts as if to purl, letting yos drop and pulling sl sts to length, sl those 5 sts back to left needle, insert right needle into 2 rightmost st and k2togtbl, insert right needle into all elongated sts and k5togtbl, yo, k5togtbl on RS rows, accordingly p2togtbl and p5togtbl on WS rows.

5 into 5: Sl 5 sts as if to purl, letting yos drop and pulling sl sts to length, sl 5 sts back to left needle, insert right needle into all 5 elongated sts and (k5togtbl, yo) twice, k5togtbl, accordingly p5togtbl on WS rows.

When purling multiple sts tog tbl doesn´t work smoothly on WS rows, turn your work before the cluster has to be done and work it from RS. Turn again when clustering is finished and follow further round/row instructions.
