Sunshine Bright Scarf

Size: Width = 8” (20 cm); length = 62” (164 cm)

Gauge: 25 sts and 30 rows = 4” [10cm] in St st after blocking

Materials

Yarn: Holst Garn Coast (55% merino, 45% cotton; 382 yards [350 meters]/50 grams): #CO52 Aconite (1 ball)
Needles: US size 4 (3.5 mm) needles
Notions: Waste yarn, tapestry needle

Pattern

Using waste yarn, provisionally cast on 57 sts purl-wise.
Row 1 (RS): P1, k1, * yo, ssk, k7, k2tog, yo, k1 tbl, k2tog, yo (x2), ssk, k2tog, yo (x2), ssk, k1 tbl; repeat from * to last 13 sts, yo, ssk, k7, k2tog, yo, k1, p1.
Row 2 and all wrong side rows: Purl.
Row 3: P1, k1 * yo, k1, ssk, k5, k2tog, k1, yo, k1 tbl, k2tog, yo (x2), ssk, k2tog, yo (x2), ssk, k1 tbl; repeat from * to last 13 sts, yo, k1, ssk, k5, k2tog, k1, yo, k1, p1.
Row 5: P1, k1, * yo, k2, ssk, k3, k2tog, k2, yo, k1 tbl, k2tog, yo (x2), ssk, k2tog, yo (x2), ssk, k1 tbl; repeat from * to last 13 sts, yo, k2, ssk, k5, k2tog, k2, yo, k1, p1.
Row 7: P1, k1, * yo, k3, ssk, k1, k2tog, k3, yo, k1 tbl, k2tog, yo (x2), ssk, k2tog, yo (x2), ssk, k1 tbl; repeat from * to last 13 sts, yo, k3, ssk, k1, k2tog, k3, yo, k1, p1.
Row 9: P1, k1, * yo, k4, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k4, yo, k1 tbl, k2tog, yo (x2), ssk, k2tog, yo (x2), ssk, k1 tbl; repeat from * to last 13 sts, yo, k4, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k4, yo, k1, p1.
Row 10: P all sts.
Repeat these 10 rows until piece measures approx. 29” (or desired length); repeat row 9. With wrong side facing, bind off all sts purl-wise.
Carefully place the stitches from the provisional cast on onto needle and, with WS facing, purl 1 row.
Begin working from row 1 of pattern to mirror first half of the scarf.

Finishing

Weave in all ends, soak and gently block to measurements.
