August 2017: Table of Contents

A Note from the Editor

Even if you’re not a fan of the heat, it’s hard to ignore summer’s allure. Overdue vacations with the family, afternoons spent swimming in the pool, more chances to spruce up the garden, music and food festivals at every turn — the list goes on and on! Plus, the sunshine seems to last forever, extending into the night until the fireflies make their first appearance. It seems like an almost never-ending opportunity to pack more fun and adventure into the every day. And while the season has already started, there’s still time to enjoy all it has to offer. Whether that means taking a day off work to relax in the yard or carving out some extra time to knock off another project on your to-do list, this brand new issue has an assortment of designs that just for you.

Now, you might be wondering: is it too hot to knit this late in the summer? The days might be hot, but that doesn’t mean you have to stop knitting. Our One Skein Lacy Scarves section is filled with lightweight and portable projects that you can knit on the go and wear with all your favorite outfits.

Celebrate this year’s hottest color ― Greenery ― with the Fresh Greenery section that features a collection of green-hued knits ideal for freshening up your home.

Wrap yourself in luxury with any of the incredible shawls from our You’re a Gem Series. Add in the designs featured in the Summer Adventures section and you’ll have everything you need to beat the heat — tanks, tops, a stylish bag and more!

For those of you who love to look (and knit) ahead, we’ve also included some cozy, must-have patterns for autumn. From cozy, cabled sweaters to a chunky cowl and delicate socks, I dare you not to get excited about knitting for fall.

Happy knitting,
