Wine Wave Scarf

This eye-catching scarf was inspired by the wavy look of a stream of wine flowing into a glass. It features a series of increase and decreases to create an S-shaped curve that will spice up a summery dress.

Size: 9″ at widest point x 64″ in length

Gauge: 22 sts and 30 rows = 4″ [10 cm] in Stitch pattern

Yarn:

Super fine weight yarn Frabjous Fibers Wonderland Yarns Cheshire Cat Fingering (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 512 yards [468 meters]/110 grams): 00 White Rabbit (MC), 1 ball; 02 Off With Her Red (CC), 1 pack

Needles: US size 1 (2.25 mm): 16″ circular

Notions: Tapestry needle; stitch markers; cable needle (optional)

Abbreviations

SSK – slip-slip-knit

K2tog – knit two together

P2tog – purl two together

P2tbl – purl two together through the back loops

M1 – make one

st-pair (stitch pair) – A pair of stitches used to form one block of a double knit pattern. A knit stitch followed by a purl stitch

Special Stitches

P2tbl – Slip 2 sts as if to knit onto the right needle, slip both sts back onto the left needle. Purl through the back loop. This results in a left-leaning decrease that matches the style of all the other decreases.

M1 st-pair – Make 1 increase with main color, then immediately make 1 increase with contrasting color to form a new stitch pair

Pattern

Using Italian Two Color Cast-On or two color cast-on method of your choice, CO 12 st-pair (24 sts). Begin working charts following increases and decreases as charted.

Finishing

Weave in all end. Block to dimension. yarn ball
