Megan Dial of AMidWintersKnit has lived all over the US, but now calls the Midwest home. Megan learned to knit and crochet many years ago as a young mother to provide warm clothes and accessories for her children. Now she designs and creates items for her comfort-loving self, her fashion-conscious teen daughters, and more imaginative pieces for her young son and husband. A deep love of all things creative and colorful has kept her learning new crafts, new techniques, and looking for new adventures to share. An obsession with history and literature keeps her nose firmly in a book whenever possible.
Bright, jewel-toned bands of simple lace flow through a speckled river of garter stitch in this graceful, fingering-weight shawl. Each lace band represents an Egyptian hieroglyphic symbol (flax, house, lotus) and teaches a new, simple lace stitch that is easy to memorize and a treat to learn.
