Rose Patch Scarf

Rose Patch is a reversible winter scarf wishing for spring. Knit in the round to create a double layer, each “patch” is built on the previous one in the stranded colorwork method. The scarf combines three graphic patchwork designs: a rose, veins of the leaves and thorns because, just as in life, you can’t have a rose without a few thorns!

Pattern Notes

The scarf is worked in stranded colorwork knitting in the round.

Two pieces are knit and then joined at the central Rose.

Interlock yarns at intarsia joins by bringing the working yarn under the resting yarn.

Long color floats should be caught every 3 – 4 stitches.

Knit across each row of charts twice to complete rounds.

In Chart 3, carry contrasting color up rather than cutting at stripes.
