Tori Double Flutter Sleeve Top

Tori is a unique colorblocked top that features several gorgeous shades of blue. With a cleverly placed double edge to create the illusion of layered sleeves, this top is an interesting knit to add to your summer-to-fall wardrobe.

Materials

Super fine weight yarnYarn: Yarnslayer Fibers Merino Melee Fingering (85% superwash Merino wool, 15% nylon; 437 yards [400 meters]/100 grams): TL4 light teal (C1, 1 (1, 1, 2, 2){2, 2, 2, 2} skeins), BL9 navy (C2, 1 (1, 1, 1, 1){1, 1, 2, 2} skeins), BL8 cobalt blue (C3, 1 (1, 1, 2, 2){2, 2, 3, 3} skeins), BL2 light blue (C4, 1 (1, 1, 2, 2){2, 2, 3, 3} skeins)

Needles: US 4 (3.5 mm) 24-60” & 16” circulars

Notions: 5/8” button, removable stitch markers, tapestry needle

Special Stitches

Left lifted increase (LLI): Insert your left needle from back to front underneath stitch two stitches below the next stitch on the right needle. Knit this stitch through the back loop, and slip it off the needle.

Right lifted increase (RLI): Use your right needle to pull the knit stitch one row below the first stitch on your right needle, then place the stitch on the left needle, taking care to ensure it doesn’t slip over the stitch next to it. Then knit the stitch and slip it off the needle.

Sssk: Slip 3 sts individually knitwise, slip back, and knit 3 together through back loop.

Sssp: Slip 3 sts individually knitwise, slip back, and purl 3 together through back loop.

Pattern Notes

At the color change on the same row, interlock yarns by placing the old color over the new color and picking up the new color from below to avoid holes from forming at the color change. Body is worked in the round from the bottom up until after the waistband, where it is split and worked back and forth. Sleeves are worked in the round, from the bottom up.

Wrap and turn first st to move purl ridge from CO to RS of work. Pm and join to work in the round, being careful not to twist the sts. (208 (236, 260, 288, 312){340, 364, 392, 416} sts)

Rnd 1: Knit.

Rnd 2: Purl.

Cont in St st while working the following Dec Rnd every 8 rnds 0 (2, 3, 4, 5) [6, 7, 8, 9] times, then every 6 rnds 9 (7, 6, 5, 4) [3, 2, 1, 0] time(s). (172 (200, 224, 252, 276){304, 328, 356, 380} sts)

Dec Rnd: [K2tog, knit to 2 sts before marker, ssk] 2x. (4 sts decreased)

Work 5 rnds even.

Waist Section

Switch to C2. Work Dec Rnd once more. (168 (196, 220, 248, 272){300, 324, 352, 376} sts)

Work even until C2 section measures 3.5”.

Bust Section

Switch to C3.

Remove markers.

Rnds 8-11: Knit.

Keyhole Edging

With C3, and RS facing, pick up 28 sts along Right Side of Keyhole, with C4 pick up 28 sts along Left Side of Keyhole. (56 sts)

Row 1 (WS): With C4 k26, with C3 k26.

Row 2: With C3 k26, with C4 k26.

With C4 BO next 26 sts, with C3 BO last 26 sts.

Sew in Sleeves. Sew button on through both layers of Keyhole Edging. Weave in ends. Block to measurements.
