Kailani Breezy Top

This breezy summer top is the combination of two classic lace patterns. Pink and white come together in a wavy design to create a lightweight top that’s made for a sunset beach strolls.

Regia Tutti Frutti (72% Cotton, 18% Polyamide, 10% Polyester; 459 yards [420 meters]/100 grams): #02420 Erdbeere (C2, 2 (3, 3, 3, 3) skeins)

Needles: US size 5 (3.75 mm) 32” circulars, US size 4 (3.5 mm) 16” circulars.

Notions: Stitch markers, stitch holders, tapestry needle.

Pattern Notes

This sweater is worked from the bottom up in the round.

Sleeve gussets are added at the underarm and it is worked back and forth.

When working back and forth, breaking yarn can be avoided by sliding work to opposite side.

Body

With larger needles, and C1, CO 252 (288, 324, 360, 396) sts. Join in the rnd, being careful not to twist work. PM for beginning of rnd.

Rnds 1, 5, and 9: *K1, [k2tog] 3 times, [yo, k1] 5 times, yo, [ssk] 3 times; rep from * around.

Rnds 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10: Knit.

Rnds 3 and 7: Purl.

Next Row: *BO 18 (36, 36, 36, 36) sts, [p2tog] 54 (54, 63, 72, 81) times; rep from * once more. Place Front and Back sts on separate holders.

Front Sleeve Gussets (make 2)

With larger needles and C1, CO 57 sts.

Switch to C2. Do not break C1.

Switch to C2.

Next Row (WS): K1, p1, [yo, p1] to last st, k1.

Next Row: P1, knit to last st, p1.

Place sts on holder.

Right Front Shoulder

Attach C2 to neck edge. Work as for Left Front shoulder.

Back Sleeve Gussets (make 2)

With C1, larger needles, and RS facing, PU 57 sts along bottom edge of Front Sleeve Gusset. Work as for Front Sleeve Gusset.

Back

Work as for Front.

Attach Front to Back using 3-needle BO.

Armhole Edging

With C1, smaller needles and RS facing, PU 142 (182, 182, 182, 204) sts along sleeve edge. Work in the round.

Rnd 1: Purl.

Rnd 2: Knit.

Rep last 2 rows twice more.

BO purlwise.

Finishing

Sew underarm seams.

Block to schematic measurements.

Weave in ends.
