The wristlet is knit in the round in stranded stitch. The bottom is joined with a 3 needle bind off. Simple embroidered flowers and beads add a sweet touch. A zipper and material lining are added. A purchased strap and swivel post makes it into a wristlet and makes it look store-bought! If you’d prefer a zippered pouch, the strap and post are optional.

Turn work inside out. Bind bottom edges together with a 3 needle BO. Break yarn leaving an 8” tail. Weave in ends.
Wet or dry block to 10” x 6 ¾”.
Turn inside out. Fold top 8 rows down and pin in place. Garter ridge is now the top edge. Hand sew cast on edge to wrong side of pouch.
Turn right side out. Embroider flowers, following placement in photo, with embroidery floss or thinner yarn. You can add a bead to the center of the flower if you wish.
Pin zipper in place at top edges of pouch. If you need to increase the length of your zipper to fit the pouch you can cover the ends of the zipper with fabric. Hand stitch zipper to pouch with all purpose or upholstery thread.
Lining:
Measure the width and length of your pouch. Add 1 1/4” to the width of your pouch. Double the length of your pouch then add 1 ½” to this dimension. Cut a piece of fabric to your dimensions. If you’d like to add interfacing, cut a piece 1” narrower and 1 ½” shorter than your fabric. Center and apply to the wrong side of the fabric following manufacturer’s instructions. Fold lining right sides together and sew the side (shorter edges) seams together with a ½” seam. Press open the seams. Fold top edge down 5/8”, wrong sides together and press. Turn right side out.
Turn pouch inside out. Insert pouch into lining and pin. Stich lining to zipper leaving a small gap between zipper teeth and top edge so that the lining doesn’t get caught in the zipper when closed.
If you want to add a wrist strap, install the D ring swivel screw post at the side of the pouch (side with zipper tab when closed) about 1” from the top edge. Clip wrist strap to D ring.
