Marsala Lace Stole

A soft brushed yarn in marsala, the Pantone color of the year, shows off four different lace patterns in this soft and cozy summertime shawl. Large enough to be wrapped around the body for warmth but light enough for constant summer use, the Marsala Lace Stole is the perfect bonfire companion.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Size: 31” x 86”

Gauge: 14 sts x 24 rows = 4” [10 cm] in any of the lace patterns using larger needle after wet blocking

Materials

Yarn: Universal Yarn Amphora (60% acrylic, 20% alpaca, 20% mohair; 306 yards [280 meters]/100 grams): #102 Oxblood (5 balls)
Needles: US size 7 (4.5 mm) straight needles, 2 dpns, 40” circular needles

Pattern Notes

The stole body is worked from one end to the other. Stitches are picked up all the way around the perimeter of the stole body, and the border is worked as a knit-on edging.
There is a garter stitch selvedge along both sides of the stole body. When picking up stitches for the border, slide the needle through the outermost loop of each garter stitch ridge.

Well, they do appear AFTER I make a comment on each pattern. How odd. Any thoughts on why? Refreshing doesn’t make them appear.

Are there charts or other instructions? They aren’t appearing on my screen, even after refreshing. I am looking for the portion that describes the Switchback pattern. I can’t seem to find instructions for it. Thanks! Beautiful stole.

The ‘last row’ instructions for each section does not seem to work. I tried. Should it read, ‘K3, purl to last 3 stitches, K3? Please advise. Dorothy
