Yarn:

Light weight yarn Scheepjes Color Crafter (100% Manufactured Fibers – Acrylic; 328 yards [300meters]/100 grams): 1068 Den Helder (Color A, 2 balls),1034 Urk (Color B, 2 balls),

Hook: US size 6 circular knitting needles (4 mm), US size 6 (4mm) dpns

Notions: Removable markers; tapestry needle

Gauge: 2.5 honeycombs x 4 honeycombs = 4” (10 cm)

Special Stitches

I-Cord Bind Off (Applied I-Cord)

Using Cable Cast on CO 3 sts. Knit the first two stitches. Knit the next two stitches together through the back look. Slip the stitches back onto the left hand needle, slipping the stitches purlwise.

Knit the first two stitches again, and knit the next two stitches together through the back loop. Slip the stitches back to the left hand needle, slipping the stitches purlwise. Repeat to last 3 sts , knit the three stitches together through the back loop and cut you yarn, pulling through.

Pattern

With Color A CO 164 sts

Row 1 (RS): Knit

Row 2: Knit

Row 3: With B, K1, sl 2, * K6, sl 2; repeat from * across to last st, K1.

Row 4: P1, sl 2, * P6, sl 2; repeat from * across, to last st, P1.

Rows 5-8: Repeat Rows 3 and 4, twice.

Rows 9 -10: With A, knit.

Row 11: With B, K5, sl 2, * K6, slip 2; repeat from * across to last 5 sts, K5.

Row 12: P5, sl 2, * P6, sl 2, repeat from * across to last 5 sts, P5.

Row 13-16: Repeat Rows 11 and 12, twice.

Rows 17-18: With A, knit.

Row 19-24: Repeat Rows 3-8.

Rows 25-26: With A, knit.

Rows 27-32: Repeat Rows 11-16.

Repeat above pattern sequence Rows 1-32, 4 more times or until desired length.

Border

Pick up stitches along entire blanket. Approx 120 sts on top and bottom of blanket and 140 sts along side edges.

Start working garter stitch in the round (Knit 1 round, purl next round). Work k1fb on each side of mitered corner (8 increases per round) ONLY on Knit rounds. Place marker on corner stitch so that you can keep track of your increases.

Work garter stitch for 8 rounds.

Work I-Cord Bind Off.

Bind off. Weave in yarn ends. yarn ball
